Tuesday Fun Run at 6pm: On FEB 12, we will run the winter outdoor fun run loop. We meet inside the UofI ARC entrance at 201 E Peabody Drive. Runners tend to park at the UofI Law Library lot (E15) at the corner of 4th St. & Pennsylvania, just east of the ARC. The fun run is a 3 mile loop once or twice through campus, all on sidewalks with streetlights. We very strongly encourage you to bring lights and wear reflective gear for your safety.

This week's post run fun meetup is at Esquire's in Champaign at 7:30! Let me know of any feedback or suggestions!

Wednesday Speed work at 6pm will be indoors at the UofI Armory (located on 4th and Gregory). The Armory charges a $3 entry fee to the general public (unless you have free access through the UofI). Runners of all speeds or comfort zones are welcome to participate in a fun and different type of workout. More information can be found at this link about the UofI Armory.

Thursday: Nothing official - feel free to meet up for an unofficial fun run via our facebook page.

Friday: Send us your newsletter articles by FEB 15 - this is the deadline to send your running stories and photos to newsletter@secondwindrunningclub.org or race results to raceresults@secondwindrunningclub.org for the March/April issue of IN PASSING, our club newsletter.

Our monthly Board Meeting is Tuesday FEB 19 at 7pm in the basement conference room of the Urbana Free Library. You're welcome to attend.

The Illinois Club Relays is February 23, 2019 for those of you signed up for various events including the mile, 4x4 relay, high jump, and more. Payment is due on the day of the meet. The 200 meter indoor track is at the UofI Armory (505 East Armory Avenue, Champaign, IL 61820).

Buffalo Trace Trail Race is Sunday March 3rd at 1pm. Sign Up Today! for the NEXT Circuit Race. Our third circuit race of the year is a 5 mile loop on the Buffalo Trace trail at Lake of the Woods in Mahomet. The course is smooth grass and/or dirt, wide (often at least 1 meter), and relatively flat - a great place to start trail running since it is NOT tricky to run on. Whether you want to improve your race circuit standings or race for fun, Sign Up Today!

Our Beginning Women's Running Group starts March 19 for an  8-week program targeting the Kirby Derby 5K (race registration not included). The program includes 30 to 45 minute sessions featuring group runs, training/information packets, guest speakers, and more. Registration closes the earlier of March 26, 2019 or when capacity reaches 40 registrants. Sign up today and come join us to stay fit and make lifelong friends. Follow this link if you want to Be a mentor!!

Long term volunteer needs: We need a new web team master! You must be able to commit to it for at least a year. You do NOT need to regularly attend club events to do this job. We are also looking for volunteers to help with other roles like race timing. Email the President if interested.
